Katharine Korunes, Undergraduate Genetics Major, Honor's student and CTEGD undergraduate researcher to present at 27th National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR Katharine's abstract submission, "Annotation of the Sarcocystis neurona Genome – Challenges and Lessons Learned," was approved for presentation at NCUR 2013 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Chosen from more than 3,500 submissions, her abstract was deemed to demonstrate a unique contribution to the field of study and is being afforded the opportunity to present her work to her peers, faculty, and staff from around the world.. NIH awards Georgia malaria research consortium up to $19.4 million contract  "[The consortium] will generate experimental, clinical and molecular data associated with malaria infections in nonhuman primates on an unprecedented scale," says Jessica Kissinger, who will direct the project’s informatics team. Kissinger, of the CTEGD, is professor of genetics at UGA and director of UGA’s Institute of Bioinformatics.
